Abstract

Michael Austin, Bath's assessor, has granted Bath Iron Works a $66,382.15 refund from its 1993 taxes after admitting that he had made a mistake assessing the company's personal taxes. For three years in a row, Bath Iron Works has claimed that it was over assessed. The abatement will not affect the 1991 and 1992 tax assessments, which are still under litigation.
