L. L. Bean's 1,045 year-round and 2,395 seasonal telemarketers will take 200 calls per minute, and as many as 156,000 calls per day, during the company's busiest sales periods. The Freeport retailer's phone centers in Lewiston and Portland handle 80 percent of all orders, twice the level of ten years ago. Details.
