Fred Cayia, manager for operations at Maine Yankee, last year made three trips to Russia and the Ukraine to help improve the safety records of nuclear power plants in those countries. Cayia is a member of one of four American teams helping to write emergency operating procedures similar to those developed in the United States after the Three Mile Island nuclear plant incident.
