Abstract

"Marine Watch" piece reporting that the Center for Coastal Studies in Provincetown, Mass., this winter completed a two-year study that identified 403 individual humpback whales in the Gulf of Maine. The numbers are low compared to the 1,223 humpbacks identified in eastern Canada and the 1,894 in the West Indies.
