The Maine Attorney General's Office is investigating whether Aroostook County District Attorney Neale Adams and his predecessor, John McElwee, misappropriated state Department of Human Services funds. Aroostook County Treasurer James McBreairty alleged that the money was used for gifts and bonuses for the district attorney's staff and others between 1987 and 1991. Details.
