Abstract

Ram Island Dance Company, an anchor for Portland's modern dance community for more than 20 years, now has one staff member, one patron and a dance school. Despite not having a company of dancers or an artistic director, Ram Island will put on its spring concert this week, a program of four dances featuring former company members and the trio in residence. The program could be the last for the company, which doesn't bode well for Portland's cultural scene. Details, history of the dance company, preview of the spring concert.
