Abstract

One of a series of articles on southern Maine's high school class of 1994. This article focuses students who have overcome great odds to graduate: Heather Ehlers of Portland High School lacked parental support; Aaron Fosset and James Pettingill, seniors at South Portland High School, have learning impairments; and Chunhua Liu, enrolled in Portland High School two years ago, but could barely speak English.
