Abstract

A $1,000-a-head cocktail party hosted by former President and Mrs. George H. W. Bush at their Walker's Point home in Kennebunkport netted $60,000 for the construction of a new town hall. Critics who groused that the event was an elitist way to raise money for the new municipal building were assured that the remaining events will be public. About 45 guests attended the party.
