Abstract

Three doctors at the Penobscot Bay Women's Health Center, the only physicians in Knox County providing abortions, have decided to stop performing the procedure. The doctors cited the weekly protests at the facility, and the chance that they could become the victims of violence. Ed Gerrish of Stockton Springs was one of the original protesters at the office of doctors Thomas J. O'Connor, Mark A. Klemperer and Bonnie Mayer. Five abortions were performed at the clinic during all of 1993. Details.
