Abstract

The Portland School Committee unanimously approved a redistricting plan for elementary schools, ending a debate over how best to relieve crowding. A group of Riverton Community School parents had urged the committee to cancel a controversial plan for a kindergarten center at the school, saying the plan discriminated against their children.
