Abstract

Samantha Merrill, 18, of Portland, died instantly, and two other Deering High students were injured, when Merrill fell asleep at the wheel after attending the Deering prom and post-prom celebrations. Speed and alcohol were not believed to be involved in the accident, which injured Justin Konrad, 17, and Mandy Sabine, 16.
