Abstract

The Portland School Committee is scheduled to vote tonight on whether to accept a $2,000 state Department of Education grant to train Deering High School staffers to teach a voluntary course about AIDS and sex issues to older students. Nine Maine high schools offered the course last year, and Deering is one of four schools to be selected to receive funding to implement the program this year. Details.
