Abstract

The Turnpike Interchange Advisory Committee last week unveiled five options for each of the two new interchanges they have proposed building, but each of those options is encountering a mix of opposition and support from various factions in the community. A $685,000 study commissioned by state transportation officials in 1991 identified outer Congress Street and the area just south of Exit 8 as the most feasible locations for new interchanges.
