Evelyn Turner, 73, of Swan's Island, has lived a hard life, raising her children and taking in laundry after her husband stopped working because of heart trouble. She is upbeat and cheerful, says she loves everyone, and it's clear everyone on the island responds to her sunny nature. She maintains her cheer even though some mornings she doesn't "feel much like gettin' up and bravin' up."
