Abstract
An article on the crew of nine men who work in an engine house inspecting and servicing locomotives on the St. Lawrence and Atlantic Railroad, a short line railroad in Auburn that connects Portland to Richmond, Quebec. Because of a recent purchase, the number of locomotives has increased from nine to 25 in the past three months. The veterans are passing on their skills and knowledge to Alex MacDonald, the new man on the job.
