Abstract

The state has spent $3 million on a 35-acre landfill site in Lincoln for disposal of waste requiring special handling. There is no really identifiable demand for the site, but Maine Department of Environmental Protection officals predict that the site will be useful at a future date. A hearing on the proposal will be held next week, and the application for the site is currently being reviewed by the Board of Environmental Protection and the land Use Regulation Commission.
