Abstract

Suzy Cronin works for the Abused Women's Advocacy Project in Lewiston, where she provides guidance to abused women in transition. Her experience with an abusive husband prepared her for the role, and illuminates the problem that women living in rural areas face in dealing with their abusers. Heidi Randall, the Oxford County AWAP victim's advocate, is the only full-time AWAP worker in the region, and must rely on a group of volunteers to provide services. Details.
