Abstract

An administration plan that called for the state to collect $9 million next year and $13 million in fiscal 1995 from nursing home patients who had qualified for Medicaid while alive but left sizable estates was working with wildly inflated estimates, leaving a $22 million hole in the McKernan administration budget.
