Abstract

The Land for Maine's Future board will purchase two uninhabited islands off North Haven in Penobscot Bay. Sheep Island, with 25 acres, and Burnt Island, with 15 acres, are both known eagle-nesting sites. Sheep Island is an outright gift to the state from The Nature Conservancy's Maine chapter, while the board will spend close to $30,000 on the purchase of Burnt Island. Details.
