Abstract
An initiative to shrink the board of directors of the Sportsman's Alliance of Maine was narrowly approved Sunday on a 57-71 vote. The move to reduce board membership from 20 to 12 was being challenged by the 11 former board members who are plaintiffs in a civil lawsuit against SAM Executive Director George Smith and three other SAM officials. Just over 100 SAM members, less than one percent of the membership, showed up for the vote. Details.
