Abstract
The White Mountain National Forest may begin charging hiking fees this summer. The WMNF budget decreased from $9.3 million in 1995 to $8.3 million this year. Congress in 1995 selected the WMNF as one of 50 national forests to participate in a three-year pilot program to study the use of fees.
