Abstract
The Maine Department of Environmental Protection has levied a $220,000 fine in connection with violations associated with the installation of AT&T fiber optics cable in 1996. AT&T, Michels Pipeline Construction and Central Maine Power Co. (CMP) have already approved the agreement. Michels Pipeline was the cable installation contractor on the project, and the route mostly followed a CMP right-of-way from Bangor to Portland.
