Abstract
Details on the author's morning aboard Maggie May, a 42-foot lobster boat owned by David Wessel. Wessel and Chebeague Island lobsterman Andy Todd spend part of the morning disentangling lobster traps in an area between Harpswell and the Harraseeket River in Freeport called Jackknife. Both lobstermen agree there is serious overfishing in the Jackknife area but are opposed to a federal proposal for an 800-trap limit.
