Abstract

The Maine Department of Environmental Protection, asked prior to this year's budget deliberations to come up with ways to minimize its workload, drafted wording to simplify the review process for back dune areas. The language in the final budget bill no longer requires a DEP permit, meaning all standards are left to the municipalities.
