Abstract

"News & Issues" piece on a test-plot of genetically altered corn that was razed at the University of Maine's Rogers Farm in Old Town last week in an apparent act of protest against genetically engineered foods. The corn was designed to resist Monsanto's popular herbicide, Roundup. DeKalb Seed, owned by Monsanto, developed the seed. A group calling itself "Seeds of Resistance" is claiming responsibility for destroying the crop.
