Abstract

"News & Issues" piece on the town of Hampden's decision to continue its fight to block expansion of the Sawyer landfill, a "trash mountain" visible from Interstate 95, despite a ruling by Superior Court Justice Margaret Kravchuck that overturned the town's earlier decision disapproving the expansion. In her Jan. 14 order, Kravchuck sided with the Sawyer Environmental Recovery Facility in its appeal of Hampden's efforts to prevent an expansion that had already been approved by the Department of Environmental Protection.
