Abstract
The Sportsman's Alliance of Maine was formed in 1975, and currently has some 6,500 members. Executive director George Smith is trying to broaden the organization's appeal, while the organization itself is beginning to agree with environmentalists that habitat destruction is more of a threat to hunting and fishing than ideological differences that exist between hunters and environmentalists.
