Abstract

Machiasport residents unhappy with the 480-foot United States Cellular tower on November 3 voted unanimously to clarify the jurisdiction and authority of the appeals board, and the town's selectmen are now considering removing Codes Officer Jeff Zabodyn from office. Although no one expects U.S. Cellular to remove the tower, which was erected over a single weekend with very few residents aware it would occur, local opposition to it continues. Details.
