Abstract

Scott Ramsay of the state Bureau of Parks and Recreation and Bob Flagg of the Maine Snowmobile Association say that a household survey by the Bureau showing that snowmobiling by Mainers is down by 58 percent is misleading. Ramsay says that there are 54,000 snowmobiles registered in the state and 11,000 family members in the snowmobile association, and snowmobile sales are at a ten-year high, all indications that the activity is thriving in the state.
