Abstract
"News & Issues" piece on Susan and Alex Millett of Biddeford, who are crusading for expanded screening for genetic disorders. Their daughter, Gabrielle, born Feb. 11, has a rare metabolic disorder called "propionic acidemia," which was not initially diagnosed. The Millets and friends have gathered 6,700 signatures on a petition asking the state to expand the list of eight rare condition for which screening is mandatory.
