Abstract
"News & Issues" piece on the traffic bottleneck on Route 1 in Wiscasset. Some downtown business people prefer it to the alternative. The Department of Transportation wants to install two traffic signals and create one-way loops on side streets as a first step that could help build a case for eventual construction of a bypass. The Wiscasset Board of Selectmen approved a modified version of the plan last week.
