Abstract
"News & Issues" piece on a recent ruling by the First U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston, lifting a federal injunction against the so-called Maine Rx bill. Maine Rx forces pharmaceutical companies doing business in Maine to negotiate with the state for lower prices as they do with HMOs, Medicaid and other groups. The Pharmaceuticals Research and Manufacturers Association of America (PhARMA) has said it will closely watch the implementation of the law as it considers its next move, which may be a U.S. Supreme Court challenge.
