Abstract
"Practicum" piece on Maine's Learning Results (MLR), published in July 1997, which represent the basic guidelines that all schoolchildren in the state are supposed to meet. MLR drives curriculums now, as groups of teachers determine whether individual classes address specific subject areas on the Maine Education Assessments and the MLR, which have become linked.
