Abstract
Feature article providing an inside look at how Longfellow's Greenhouses in Manchester orchestrates blooms for every occasion. The company has 21 greenhouses and at different times a single greenhouse will be committed to up to 40,000 geraniums; in winter, it will be 15,000 poinsettias; in fall, it will be 20,000 pots of chrysanthemums. Longfellow's grows 90 percent of what it sells, much of it in the spring. The staff numbers up to 30 during the winter, increasing to 60 in the spring.
