Abstract

Maine beekeepers might be seeing a resurgence of the wax moth, which foul hives with their webs and excrement. Tony Jadczak, state apiarist, said the wax moth is more of a problem further to the south, and doesn't think they are much of a problem in Maine at this time. One Maine beekeeper says he has never had a problem with the pests before this year.
