Description

Aerial view of the Bayside Park Urban Renewal Area, from north. The smoke drifting across the demolition wreckage was caused by the burning debris. The snow-covered swath across the center was in the process of being cleared of homes for the creation of a "park mall" (and the future Franklin Arterial).

Portland City Hall, and Portland High School are at top center. Below Portland City Hall the Scandinavian Bethlehem Church (58 Wilmot Street) is visible. Fox Street in right foreground. Lancaster Street is visible diagonally from lower left to upper right. Cross-streets from left: Smith Street, Mayo Street, Boyd Street, Franklin Street.
