Description

Views of Portland Friends Meeting House (Quakers), 1837 Forest Avenue, after major renovations to the exterior and interior, completed in early 1996.
The Quaker Meeting House had been originally built in 1855.

Top image: Full exterior view of the Meeting House, with new entrance and wheelchair ramp.
Bottom image: Interior view of sanctuary, with Clerk of the Meeting Mary Hillas standing and addressing the congregation with "It's so good to be home again," as the temporary place of worship was the nearby Pride's Corner Congregational Church.
