Description

Full exterior of the McLellan-Sweat Mansion (Portland Museum of Art), 111 High Street, from south.
The mansion was built in 1801 for Hugh McLellan, designed by John Kimball, Sr. Bought in 1880 by the Lorenzo de Medici Sweat family, the mansion was bequeathed to the Portland Society of Art in 1908.
