Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece reporting that lawmakers submitted more than 500 proposed bills for the next session, but only 174 were accepted for consideration. Chris Hall, vice president of the Maine State Chamber of Commerce, said he hasn't seen any bills that are particularly worrisome to businesses, but that it is still early on in the process. David Clough, Maine director of the National Federation of Independent Business, said it appeared there were no new measures on workers' compensation or unemployment, two areas of concern to his members.
