Abstract

"Focus on Tourism and Hospitality" piece on how Maine colleges use their facilities for conferences, camps, and special events during the summer. Unity College hosts environmental conferences, and like other colleges, depends on the added revenue. Colby College in Waterville hosts academic conferences and sports camps, and welcomes the added exposure from targeted groups. Bowdoin College, which hosts the annual Bowdoin International Music Festival in Brunswick, is noted for its excellent food service and retains its cafeteria workers, as other colleges are able to do by using their facilities all year.
