All Hands on Deck: Business Rebounds, but Workforce is Elusive
While the boat building business has rebounded in recent years, there is still a shortage of qualified workers to help build the boats, particularly the fiberglass fabrication, woodworking, electrical and mechanical work. While this is not a unique problem to boatyards, it does affect them more acutely because they are located on the coast where there is more competition for seasonal work.
