Abstract

While the boat building business has rebounded in recent years, there is still a shortage of qualified workers to help build the boats, particularly the fiberglass fabrication, woodworking, electrical and mechanical work. While this is not a unique problem to boatyards, it does affect them more acutely because they are located on the coast where there is more competition for seasonal work. Bentley Collins, of Sabre Yachts and Back Cove Yachts, details how this issue can be addressed. [image]
