Abstract

Description of the Phoenix-sponsored debates for the three legislative districts representing Portland's peninsula and islands. In the District 120 debate, Republican challenger Craig Belanger pledged to work for job creation and tax relief; Green candidate Pamela Cragin said the Portland delegation needed more women; and Democratic incumbent Ben Dudley said he was proud of his work on the domestic-partner inheritance bill and mental-health parity in insurance coverage. Due to redistricting, Distirct 118 pits two incumbents, Green John Eder and Democrat Ed Suslovic, against Republican Arvina Magno. In District 119, incumbent Democrat Herb Adams faces Green Jeffrey Spencer and Republican Steven Scharf.
