Abstract
Detailed article criticizing the state's decision to award its wholesale liquor distribution lease to Massachusetts-based Martignetti Companies, a decision which caused two Maine bidders to sue, claiming the service to outlets wouldn't be as good as theirs. On May 10, Martignetti struck a deal with the two plaintiffs, Maine Liquors and MaineCentric, and the lawsuits were dropped. With comments by Nick Alberding, general manager of Maine Liquors; Rebecca Wyke, commissioner of the Maine Division of Administrative and Financial Services; and Rep. Joe Clark, D-Millinocket.
