Abstract

"This Just In" piece on local events that will feature female authors. Nine female playwrights will gather at the University of New England (UNE) Art Gallery on March 29 to read selections from their work. The Maine authors include Portland's Carolyn Gage, Laura Emack of Prospect, and Joye Cook-Levy of Bangor. Two days later, Monica Wood will read at the UNE Westbrook Campus in Portland as part of the Maine Women Writers Collection author series. Also on April 3, National Book Award finalist Jennifer Egan will read at the University of Southern Maine in Portland.
