Abstract

The state Department of Marine Resources has banned the gathering of mussels, whelk and snails along the eastern shores of Casco Bay, from Harpswell Neck to the Kennebec River, because of the danger of poisoning from red tide. The ban follows by about two weeks a similar ban affecting the coast from Cape Elizabeth to New Hampshire.
