Abstract

Indications are that the temporary sales tax rate of 6 percent, scheduled to drop back to 5 percent on July 1, will remain in place through Labor Day, and possibly beyond. A growing consensus among members of the Legislature is that maintaining the 6 percent rate through the summer makes sense, since sales tax collections are highest during the summer months. Details.
