Abstract

Russell Turner, the former owner of Portland nightclub Raoul's Roadside Attraction, is behind the effort to renovate the State Theater on Congress Street and turn it into a venue for concerts, plays, movies and dances. The State was built in 1929, was an X-rated theater during the 1970s and 1980s and has been closed since 1990. Details.
