Abstract

Madison Electric Works officials rejected a Central Maine Power Co. (CMP) 10-year power supply proposal, saying that CMP knew details of a competitor's bid and therefore had an unfair advantage. Madison Electric recently negotiated a contract with Northeast Utilities of Hartford, Conn., under which it will get its power at a wholesale rate of 3.76 cents per kilowatt-hour. Details.
