Abstract

The Lewiston School Committee will tonight consider a policy introduced by school superintendent Robert V. Connors to bar future do-not-resuscitate requests like the one from Linda Lafrance, mother of 12-year-old Corey Brown, who suffers from spastic cerebral palsy and scoliosis. An October 25 decision by the school committee to forbid teachers from resuscitating the girl if she should stop breathing has many advocacy groups concerned, and some out-of-state advocates plan to attend tonight's meeting.
